Missions

Main street united methodist church is on a mission!

love growing serving

Jesus said to them, “…the Holy Spirit will come upon you and give you power.
Then you will tell everyone about me in Jerusalem, in all Judea, in Samaria, and
everywhere in the world.” Acts 1:7-9

“As Christians, we engage in mission, not just because of some vague sense of the importance of doing good, but because mission is a primary way in which we live out our faith.  By engaging in mission, we joyfully respond to the love and grace that God gives us.  We answer the calling of Jesus Christ, who sends us out in mission.” – From Guidelines for Leading your Congregation 2025-2028: Mission.

We take seriously Jesus’ vision of making disciples.

Sharing the Good News locally, in areas out of our local area, and beyond.

Our church serves through…
  • Preschool
  •  Food Pantry
  • TLC (Tender Loving Care group): crafting of blankets, hats and other items for giving within the congregation and community
  • Disciples Kitchen meals
  • Tie Dye in July event
  • Blessing of the Animals annual event
  • Community Thanksgiving Dinner: The Thanksgiving Meals for the Homebound is a community outreach that delivers hot, (church-/home-cooked Thanksgiving meals to those in our community who can’t get out to enjoy a meal elsewhere or can’t cook for themselves, even including some of our emergency responders who are working on the holiday. We invite anyone in the faith community to assist in this wonderful mission of sharing God’s love and abundance. There are at least a dozen different ways to join the fun!
