Don Coffey: Chancel Choir Director

Don brings a depth of musical acumen to our church and to the Shenandoah Valley.  Choir practice meets weekly on Wednesday and the Chancel Choir generally sings an anthem at 11 a.m. worship.

Dawn Lemasney: Youth and Child Choir Director

Dawn is a graduate of Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ.

  • God’s Kids (Preschool-Grade 5) is a traditional children’s choir, learning music skills through fun activities. This group sings traditional and contemporary children’s music for worship and ministry in the church.
  • Joyful Noise (Gr. 6-12) uses a variety of instrumentation for a new twist on church music. This fun and innovative group is always doing something unexpected!
  • Caritas (Gr. 6-12) is a small ensemble focusing on vocal music. They present Gospel, Spirituals, classical and contemporary music, often without accompaniment.
  • Christmas Musical (Gr. 1 – 12) This event is a mainstay of the Christmas season at Main Street UMC. Adults, youth and children work together on this annual event.
  • Summer Music Camp (Gr. 1-8) Summertime is the right time for music, fun and friends! This weeklong program includes singing, drama, and handbells.

Donald Dollins: Handbell Director

The three handbell choirs perform regularly in worship services and several times a year in area nursing homes and the Senior Center.  Ringers also have the opportunity to travel to area festivals.  (all choirs?)  All choirs are inter-generational and inter-denominational.  We invite individuals with a range of music or bell experience.

  • The Masterpeace Ringers are open to youth and adults.
  • The Genesis Handbell Choir is our beginning level handbell choir.  The children learn both handbell technique and reading music.  (age?)
  • The Handbelles Choir caters to those available for rehearsals and performances during the weekday.
